Pizza Meditation

Are you game to try a pizza meditation?
It's a meditation I learned from Mingyur Rinpoche.

Get comfortable, close your eyes, and for 15 seconds, don't think about pizza.
You can think of anything you like in this meditation.
Except for pizza.

Ready?
Close your eyes, rest for a bit, and don't think about pizza.
You can open your eyes now.

How did it go?

If you're like everyone else, you thought about pizza.
Why?
Because thoughts generate more thoughts.
The more we try NOT to think about something, the more it comes to mind.

That's one of the reasons why we let thoughts come and go when we meditate.
We don't block them.
We don't interfere with them.
Our goal is to be okay with whatever arises.
